I agree with you Phil. Just another day.

I used to work with a bloke who was a total townie. He hated the countryside and thought that it was just green, no buses, shops, too quiet, no discos, etc. There are some strange people about aren't there?

It was certainly worth a couple of hours of lost sleep for me. Nature is such a wonderful thing =P~

Can I suggest the 'supermoon' for the Most Hyped Non-event of the Year ?

Got up.

Saw it.

Went back to sleep.

Underwhelmed.

You sound like a surly bored teenage boy.

Thanks RogerS you reminded me of Mrs Richards,

Basil: "Well may I ask what you expected to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain..."
Guest: "Don't be silly. I expect to be able to see the sea."

i didn't bother viewing this event. But I totally missed a total Solar Eclipse when I was in Australia. I noticed it was getting darker, just thought it was going to rain !!

I remember the 1999 eclipse because it was my mum's 65th birthday - and because (in Cornwall, at least) there were miles of empty campsites. Some people lost a small fortune, but I never could work out how anyone expected people to travel 100s of miles to see 90% of something when they could stay home and see 80% or 85%. :?
I did get to meet and talk with Sir Patrick Moore, though. Fascinating guy, but I've never met anyone so colour prejudiced and racist.
