Storing Wood

Hi All,

Looking for some advice please regarding storing wood for projects. I don’t have a dedicated workshop yet but have space in the house. (Or My current shed is dry but uninsulated - is this suitable?)

I’m a getting some stuff 100 year old pine floorboards (recently pulled up) to use for a toolbox project but would like to store in the best way to minimise any movement (although given the age of it I assumed it wouldn’t move too much if indoors)

How best to stack? Is indoors necessary or is shed ok?

That’s what I’d like to do. But I’m getting rather more than the toolbox project. So Wanna make sure it’s fine until I build my workshop

Then try and store it in a place in your house with a lower humidity, so that it does not take in water and expand.

I was thinking - laid flat, but raised off the floor in an inside room? Do I need stickers? Does this sound right?

Store it flat in a cool dry place. If it is reclaimed floorboards which are dry and stable I wouldn’t be using stickers.

If you have a room that you do not use much and is ventilated that would be best.
