Storing Machines In A Temporary Garage

I have the opportunity to buy a couple of machines at a very reasonable price. It would be a shame to pass them up.
Gets a bit convoluted but bear with me

I put in a planning application for garage 16th April, consultation deadline was 13/05/2024 , decision deadline date is 11/06/2024. This is for a garage at the front of my house.

Neighbours are ok with my proposal, comments on the application, highways department, 9th May no objection, 7th May my town council, no objection. I'm in a semi, next door had planning approved few years back for garage same size as mine. I'm hoping will get the go ahead from the County Council. Builder will start on work as soon as have planning, builder is Trust Mark and Trading Standards approved, so no cowboy outfit, will take about a month.

If for some reason County Council say, nope, nothing doing. I had a plan B right from the start. I have a quite big long back garden, if I got a no, then would build garage at back of house, front is preferred.

As I mentioned earlier I don't want to pass up the opportunity on the machines but I have nowhere to put them at the moment.

I'm thinking of buying a temporary garage something like this

I don't live in a high crime area but I would have word with the house insurance people, vandal damage, storm damage, tempory cover until garage built.

Warmer weather is here, but I'm thinking about possible damp, give machines good coating of oil grease??? I have a large capacity dehumidifier, don't think that would work to well in a garage that might have openings. Some kind of greenhouse heater, non fire risk.

Any ideas, advice much appreciated.

When I closed down my workshop, at short notice. I had to put my machines in temporary storage in my back garden. I cobbled together a lean to out of onduline and 4x2's, and the machines were wrapped in tarpaulins. This worked quite well for a couple of years until I got a new workshop.
There was a bit of surface rust, but nothing too bad. The added advantage was that the machines themselves were quite heavy, even though they were broken down into smaller pieces. Any opportunist thief, would have been hard pressed to lift or transport them.

If they are old and worn out and require an overhaul then a temporary solution is likely not an issue, you just have a bit more clean-up. If they are newer machines in good condition I think there is significant risk of making a mess of them in a short time, a few weeks/months. If the deal was good enough i'd be looking at how I could seal them individually in heavy duty polythene with desiccant bags inside the sealed envelope, stood on pallets to keep off the ground. Then good quality tarpaulins over the packaged machines.
