I used to install endless drive belts on industrial machinery. One such job was a 4" wide high tension belt on a limestone turning lathe. If You would look up on some of the old buildings and see a ball on a perch, they made them there. This is in Central Ohio, USA. I got to see Them turning a 24" (metrically challenged) ball with a 12" radius in 2 bites by swiveling the tool around, came out extremely well.
Another job I seen done was, If You have seen the garden benches that are about 4' long with a scroll carved on the ends, I have seen the scrolls carved into the limestone ends by air powered chisels in about 20 minutes by Vietnamese artists. Very talented and fast.
