I just buy the packs of 100 and cheap is fine as they mostly get used by me in cabinet scraping duties. The cheaper ones are easier to get a bend in.
Irwin(which is also made by stanley) make very good blades by all accounts. They do a bi metal blade that supposedly holds a better edge.
But heres the thing with stanley blades. Its the tip thats important for the most part, and just rubbing the back of the blade on a sharpening stone can restore that so you shouldnt need to swop out blades as often.

It all depends on the job and your own finances. I use the tip for cutting hardboard and thin plywood. A quick touch up with a sharpening stone will extend the life of the blade. I also cut a lot of cardboard up for the bin, which tends to wear out blades.
So I buy packs of 100 cheap blades.
