Hello,

I'm just completing a black walnut blanket chest and wanted to hinge the lid with something of a high quality, and also like the look of SS with the walnut. I know Brusso stuff was never exactly cheap, but had to steady myself against the furniture when an Internet search priced the size I want at £106! Even the plain brass was about £65, Now the chest is an expensive piece, but it is for personal use, so it is not as if I can cost that into the job and recoup it. Does anyone know of anything of good quality that will not be quite so expensive. I suppose I could use brass of another brand, but I wanted a more contemporary look. In fact, does anyone use Brusso but hinges and justify why I should stump up £106.

Any ideas? thanks,

Mike.

Try Solent Marine. That's where I buy all my "for show" stainless hinges.

They even do under pin - ideal if you're veneering and don't want visible screws

Hello,

Thanks for the link, these look like just the thing. £2.50 each for the same size as the Brusso I was looking at. I wonder which I should buy
