Hello.
What are they called? I'm looking for hardwood, various sizes from say 15mm downwards, by 1m?
I've searched for eg "walnut square dowel 10mm" and not got far.
If they have a special name, it would be helpful to know it!
Thank-you,

"Veneer lines and stringing" will find the smaller sizes and I guess "hardwood strips" for the larger.

I just googled "square dowel" and got 676000 results, even though dowels are round, by definition.

Square pegs used a lot in trad joinery but you wouldn't necessarily know this as when they are hammered into a round hole they become squashed round.
If that's what you are doing then machined square rods may not be good as they could be cross grained. Trad they are split roughly square with an axe, which means straight grain.

I googled
walnut "square dowel" site:.co.uk for Images.
The marquetry site looked v good... So they're called Square Lines, it seems. Funny eBay has nothing for that, only some old radios etc
