I assume you will be using all new fixing screws and not trying to reuse the old ones as that could be a bad move !

Out of interest have you been in touch with Axminster about this? Also is this the first time you’ve tried to turn the tips ? I only ask as I’ve been using spiral blocks for getting on 12 years now & never encountered this problem.
Hammer/ Felder give a torque setting that their tips should be tightened to, I’m wondering if they’ve been over tightened
