finally managed to get into the garage and have a play with the new pen lathe i got from devonwoody :D - first time i've plugged it in since i got it 3 weeks ago ish :lol:

axminster had the blank labelled as pink ivory
this is the first bottle stopper i've turned i think it could have done with a larger diameter though.

I think you're right about the blank. IMHO it would look better with a bigger top end - in line with the angle of the chrome, I think. Hope that makes sense. Still like it though!

Unusual choice of form but it's workable and easily gripped. I think the size is adequate, not a fan of over large stopper tops myself, they always seem rather incongruous on top of a narrow bottle stem.
 
very nice paul, to say it's your first it wont be the last. bottle stoppers should be slightly larger at the point it touches the chrome.
