Hi all

Amongst other bits and pieces I am up to I am finishing a few lidded forms. This one is around 130mm dia x 210mm high.

I would love to find something to criticise but I can't. I am sure in your eyes it isn't perfection but it certainly looks that way to me

Nah, rubbish :D

Love it. =D>

Hi

all thank you very much for your comments. They are very much appreciated.

George

I have not heard you say that about one of my pieces for a while so I am chuffed you think so. :D

Steve

Thank you very much.

Pete

Thank you, I don;t know about being perfect but I am very pleased with it. It would be perfect if someone offered me a grand for it.   and there is about as much chance of that happening as there is getting an echo in the Sahara desert.  But one day may be.

Tom

Thank you very much. I have a few more to finish in the next few days but the good lady is off from tomorrow so I have been told to take her out for the day. So I have arranged to go look at a new outlet,

Hope she doesn;t mind.

Fantastic Mark :D
Can't wait to see you in action at the bash.

Thanks Paul

I thought I would show how to turn a bottle stopper at the Bash

Not bad,not bad atall

Another lovely piece. What finish is on this Mark? Doesn't look too shiny and doesn't seem to have darkened the beech.

Hi Johnny

Thank you. The finish is microcrystaline wax. It has actually darkened it a bit. But the sun was so bright in my conservatory when I took the pic, hence why it looks light.

Mark, are you using a tent? Or just a big backdrop? and what cemera are you using?

Just being nosey

Faultless Mark, interesting to see where you can go next with your turning as you've raised the bar so high. :duno:

Hi Tom

I am using a graded black to white PVC photography back drop from here.

http://www.firstcall-photographic.co.uk/categories/103/backgrounds-accessories

About £60. Unfortunately though mine has taken a bit of a battering.

The camera I use is a £60 samsung 7M Pixel instance, set on macro, no flash so that it can sort out the shutter itself, oh yes and a timer with tripod.

I take the pictures in my conservatory so I have good daylight due to not having any photography lighting.

Steve

Thank you for your comment. I have meant to get back to you ref hollowing tools.
Not sure where I will go with my turning next as my taste and points of inspiration are eclectic to say the least. It all depends how I feel when I walk into the work shop. A few more lidded forms are on the way and some more coloured, textured and new work. But when I will get round to finishing them only time will tell.

Ad

very kind of you to say ,

Thank you all again, much appreciated.
