Sourcing Startrite spares?

being more familiar with 'old technology' than computers, I feel like starting by saying...... ' is there any body there??'
I have just been searching on the internet for 'Startrite TA/SP 175' and for the first time in my life I got only one result which was a posting on this forum. (I havent sussed out how to reply yet but if Roger 1 reads this then I wouldn't hesitate to say that older Wadkin/Startrite machines in good order are so much better value and more satisfactory than the modern stuff. )
To get to the nub of the problem though; ... with older machines you occasionally need spares and I have unfortunately broken the casting at the front of the rip-fence on my Startrite and would really appreciate tips on where to get the spares for the older machines, and particularly a parts list.

Welcome to the forum. There are quite a lot of us here. :shock:

I have an old Wadkin table saw nice bit of kit, but I have no idea where you will get spares for your Startrite. Is the casting beyond repair? I have seen castings welded and re-machined, not cheap but many be a way on getting the machine back in to use.

thanks Jacob, I have been onto the Startrite website but couldn't find anything relating to spares or the past models, I will try them next week in office hours.

The casting is unfortunately well smashed, I kick myself for it but I had successfully collected the machine and was just getting it into the workshop when its top heavy nature became all too apparent! C'est la vie :?

Well I got two hits on that search , the other being D B Keighley who mutter about spares in a general kinda way. Might be worth asking though, you never know.

thanks Alf, computers still frustrate me, and I am sure they conspire against me at times so I guess I am not surprised that you get better results than me for the same search! thanks very much for the tip about DB Keighley ... I'll get on the phone tomorrow morning.

Hi Bob and welcome to the forum. I have an old Wadkin saw and agree that these old machines are, when well maintained, excellent pieces of kit.

As to your Startrite machine, there are two further ideas I have: firstly, G and M Tools of West Sussex claim that they "are able to supply most parts for the range of Startrite woodworking machinery."

Secondly, ALT Saws and Spares have been advertising in Furniture & Cabinetmaking recently and their website says that they "supply original spare parts for all the older & obsolete ranges of Startrite Machines"
