But then what else.

It has been ages since I have posted a picture of any work.

New works are being produced but as yet am not happy with them so here is a piece that I have been promising a good friend for about a year now.

It is locally sourced spalted beech, rough turned, seasoned and finished, ready to have a lid and one of my hook finials put on it.

It measures 210 dia x 120mm high. Is finished in renaissance wax

There are two pictures one from each side to show the different markings.

Hi Paul

Thank you for your comment. I was starting to think it was something that I had said.

See you at Yandles.

Excellent piece Mark,

Looking forward to seeing it finished with a lid.

I have to say that although there is nothing wrong with either, my personal preference is towards pieces like this that show the the natural beauty of the wood rather than the coloured pieces.

Steve :)

Thank you for your comment. I tend to agree, I too like the natural look of wood but I also like the freedom that enhancement gives me as a way of expressing my thought process. So I tend to use plain Beech, sycamore for my other word.

Thank you again for your comment.
