Received email spam this morning from MAP UK.Airshootingdotcom

Now I have never mentioned shooting an airpistol on any forum ever or anywhere else except this forum on an occasion last week.

So how come I get this spam?

Map UK run a few woodworking business. All advertised on this forum Triton Tools probable being the one you have used in the past. They also have a site selling Titman Router Cutter and a Nail Gun site.

I received the same Spam email this morning. No point really. I only shoot people who p*** me off! :)

I got the same email this morning and wondered where they got my email addy, until now!

The camouflage gear looked handy though, for hiding out in the garden. :D

Did members above who got the spam respond to the thread about the bullet Tony found in that piece of cherry the other week?

I'm thinking along the lines perhaps that's what stirred the shooters up

Have you ever tbought anything from the banners at the top of the page. ie. Tritontools.co.uk, Besseytools.co.uk, Titmantools.co.uk etc.?

If you have the will have your email address from your purchase.

Twenty years ago before email and spam, many companies that had a customer data base of names used to sell on the data base list at 50Pence per name.

I dont know if this is allowed now with laws that abound these days on computer storage etc.

I'd say 80% of spam is generated from companies selling your email address. It's very legal, a lot of sites have an #opt-out' but this wouldn't stop the unscrupulous.

I wonder if forum members do it too? :)

I received that piece of spam too, and didn't contribute to the "bullet in the wood" thread, if that'll help allay your suspicions, JJ.
