I have one quite like that I "inherited" when my Grandfather died a few years ago- it's what got me into this game - a 25 year old "Junior" in blue, and without the table or the protective cover for the drive belt, and although it has the platform thing shown on the left it doesn't have any of the base for it. Always wondered what that platform was for ... and still am. Can anyone enlighten me?

Perfect for spindle work Mike. Bit limited for bowls, 6 or 8" Diameter at a guess.

And I just missed it wizer it had just been spoken for.
I need to get a big flat bed lathe even at my early learning stage
I have noticed the vibration issue with the smaller lathes.
I am on a Nu-toool 36"pipe bed.

feel I am about to brake out in to one of the Beech Boy songs..
But Bad vibrations....Do I sense a small amount of smugness
stating the fact you do not get any vibrations due to you having a far superior
set up...l0l

Hi Mike,

I need to check my phone again! (in joke). European Wood working Show/ Mark Hancock!

Phil

He lies!!! He lies.......

A big boy did it and ran away! No, no....didn't you know that everyone on the planet has an exact double?

Mike

I've heard it said that there is some faked video of me out there somewhere, supposedly showing me holding a hollowing tool to a piece of spinning wood at the Cressing temple show. It is plainly an attempt to slur my good name......

Mike

ahh I see. That means I missed Phil too. That's a shame.

Mike, we all know you're going to be turning by the middle of next year. Give it up!

I think it's a thundering disgrace that that BRM has not got a speck of dust showing :( :( . Tom is your whole time spent painting and dusting the BRM. Or have you got a cleaning Lady   .
If I had received proper tuition on picture posting   I would post some pictures of my lathe and the many masterpieces I have created on it .Until the tutor returns you will have to take my word for it
