I have created a custom library of textures in sketchup for 'painting' of surfaces. Trying to resize them so that timber grain is authentic to scale is proving difficult however. Does anyone have an easier way than playing with the red green yellow and blue resize pins after right clicking the texture and selecting 'texture -> position' ? something like a box to enter the dimensions required would be useful and far simpler IMHO!

I am using sketchup 5, and the link previously posted to a video tutorial for sketchup 4 now links directly to all video tutorials homepage at google sketchup which is not very helpful.

Ta in advance for any help, advice or sympathy!

Steve, you can resize your textures in the material editor. See below.

Thanks Dave, although that only resizes the image for all applications. What I was trying to do was map a texture to a face, particularly where the image is tiled ie where the face is larger than the image itself. What would have been handy would be a 'resize to face' option or similar rather than having to do every face by hand with the coloured pins.

After playing for a while the pins become a little easier to use (hint, move the green one first, not the blue one!) but it still seems cumbersome to me unless I am missing something.

I have been putting the final touches to my design entry for the comp so pics will be up soon if you want a better idea of what I mean.

Cheers,

Steve.
