I recently purchased a second hand SIP 12" table saw. I have one issue with it,
I know when bought new they are supplied with a 16amp plug however my one came with a 13amp plug and runs just fine.
Since I have a 16amp socket in my workshop I'd like it to run on a 16amp plug.

I noticed there was tape around a part of the wire coming from the saw and I opened it up see pictures below.

I then opened the 13amp plug and discovered a copper wire around the fuse...

Does anyone know how it could be running on the 13amp plug?
Has there been any modifications to allow it to run on 13amp?

Can’t see the pictures but
If its running on a 13 amp plug with a 30 amp fuse in it (piece of heavy wire)
Just rewire to your 16amp plug and away you go.

I'm new to the furoms i'm not sure what happened to the link but if you copy the end part of the URL it works i think.

Thanks for your reply, that wouldn't of caused any damage would it?

The startup current trips the breaker when running on a normal 13amp supply.
The previous owner got fed up with the mcb tripping. Instead of fitting a 16amp blue plug and socket from a 20amp type c radial, they botched it with the copper wire. It's a simple job to fix and do it right.
Good luck
