Its a jig I built to do 90 degree cuts on boards which before were almost impossible to do on my small table saw. The right-hand edge of the jig is flush with the saw itself so its easy to see where is going to be cut, theres a runner fitted to go down my mitre slot on the saw. After I built it I attached a hold-down which has been great :

Whilst in B&Q during the week I saw a long ruler available for £5 and an idea occurred to me :

Tried using it today for the first time and works an absolute treat, cut a few boards, totally accurately and very quickly.
 
That's a good idea! :)

I've seen several other ideas pretty similar to this but, this may be the first time I've seen someone add their own scale.

Those look almost identical to the rulers we have at college - try not to bend them at all or you'll never get 'em back straight again! :roll:
 
I use a panel cutter very similar to yours, and it gets used very often. Might just steal the idea with the ruler though!
