First up is a name plaque with slimline pen as a present for a friend at work who is leaving.

Next up comes the nose, got the pattern from steve good's site, i think its a great idea as i loose my glasses all the time.

Last but not least comes the Sierra. This is a pen kit i have not made before and was kindly given to me by steve jones, the Laburnham blank was given to me by our very own John.B and i managed to turn it all by myself.

thanks for looking...

As you know I'm not a pen person but the scroll work and the pen together make a really lovely presentation gift . Also like the quirkiness of the 'nose.

Excellent stuff Steve, like the glasses stand very much bet you could flog a few of those and the pen is smashing, must have a go at making a pen. I have this idea about melting down plastic blanks but I`m sure its already been done. Once went to a wood show where the guy turned a platter made from old solidified paint from where he used to spray buses looked really good.
Regards
Steve

Great stuff there Steve, some very tidy letters on the pen stand, did you scroll saw those out?
The only critisism would be the join in the two pieces of timber being off to the right, if joining 2 bits, in the middle would have looked much better(I'm being picky )

Nice pen too 8)

Smashing stuff Steve.

I`m sure Beth will be over the moon with her gift, 8)

The glasses holder is a great idea, might give that a go myself.

Finally, my favourite piece the laburnum pen, stunning mate, one of the nicest pens i`ve seen posted. You will definitely be quizzed at the next meeting regards details of the kit.

Oh & the photos aren`t bad either

Nice work Steve, glad to see you finally got round to making the sierra. I still haven't done anything with the rest of the kits because of the reasons we talked about on the phone. I'm biding my time :)

Regards

Steve

That glasses holder is a brilliant idea! My partner is always losing his readig glasses, so I'll be showing him that picture and suggesting he make himself something similar!

I like the name block pen holder and pen too, what a lovely personalised gift - I'm sure Beth will be thrilled with it.

The sierra pen looks good too.

Three great pieces Steve, Pen presentation super The Pen is as you always show perfect, as for the nose ,if I did'nt know better it could be a model of MINE, in my dreams. Lovely stuff. REgards Boysie.

That glasses holder raised a smile!

You're getting pretty handy with that scroll saw now!

And as always the pens are lovely. I like the sierra style, and the laburnum complements it well.

Really nice Steve.
I'm pleased you made good use of the Laburnum. I must admit to liking Sierra pens more than most.
The shape lends itself to different patterns and additions, (and it saves on wood as it only uses one piece)
I Like the name and the nose,
must make a spec stand like that cos I'm always losing mine too
well made.

(BTW I've just aquired a 'Beall Pen Wizard',,, should get interesting  )

yes johnny i did, not used the scrollsaw for some time but i fear i will be using it moreso now. Got a few other things planned also.

Apparently the beth plinth went down very well indeed, i did not see her myself as she left while i was off.
Once again, many thanks.

Nice fun quirky fun pieces that that shows a great range of skill and creativity particularly with the lettering. I've never made a pen but have any of you thought of making a mechanical pencil. I'm sure they would go well. I use a 0.7mm cheap plastic one for my doodling and design work. Nice range of products on the forum just lately. Whats happened to the competition? Why is it taking so long to reach a conclusion? Judges pull your fingers out ..the suspense is killing us.
