Has anyone made a shove halfpenny board?.
I've been asked to make one but have no idea of size, materials or method of manufacture.
Could someone please enlighten me??
Also what are the rules of the game, scoring etc.

Cheers Alan

Blimey! Haven't seen that game played for a while. My son would be turning the board over to find out where you put the batteries.

When I lived in North Devon in the late 70's, the entire back page of the North Devon Journal was covered by results in the local Shoveha'penny leagues. I wonder whether it still is? I thought I had arrived on Mars!!

Alan, if you need any halfpenney coins I could send you two or three.
Thanks for the offer Malcolm but I do have a supply of old halfpennies what I am lacking at the moment is the " How do I cut groove across the board
1/32 of an inch wide."

Ask someone to buy you a Dremel for Christmas and with a routing accessory and an engraving bit as small as .8mm
A straight edge across the board and bobs yer uncle.

I seem to remember at a woodworking show years ago watching a demo where someone made a board from start to finish against the clock, I think it was 15 minutes. May have been only 10. Very impressive I thought at the time.
