I've made a couple of oak L&B doors before, but I need to make a pine one - nothing fancy as it's being painted white. Were they always traditionally made using T&G boards? I did last time, but I'm wondering if it's necessary.

Thanks for the advice - I went out to the timber yard this morning to order the wood. However, I'm looking after our 7 month old daughter this morning as it's my wife's first day back after maternity leave. I called in at teh supermarket, then into a big toy shop to get her some pressies - got so mixed up in the new toys, I came home completely forgetting to go to the timber yard - the whole point of the journey - D'oh!!

I see that your daughter already has you wrapped round her little finger, you have no hope of ever just doing what you want ever again.

My granddaughter as well as her mum do it to me all the time.
