I've recently ordered a cheap cyclone off eBay for connection to my shop vac.

But now also come across this
CV06 Mini System
http://www.clearvuecyclones.com/cv06-mi ... ystem.html

Based on Bill Pentz's design

Has anyone come across a comparable product based on Bill's design available in the UK

My workshop space is half a garage and I will predominantly keep the shop vac outside ( not venting back into the workshop) but would like to have a cyclone as efficient as possible.

The filtration links in my extraction system are going to be

Cyclone

Fleece bag inside shop vac

Shop vac filter

Shop vac venting outside the workshop

Thanks

Ewan

You could go to Bill's site and use his spreadsheet to get the plans to make your own vac sized cyclone.

Clear-Vue actually have those on clearance for a third less. They have a few cosmetic flaws but that doesn't hurt the function. I almost bought one last week but with shipping being $60US or $70US it would cost me over $250Can after exchange, brokerage and taxes. SWMBO would never go for that so I didn't bother.

They also have just the cyclone for $55US that could be an option for you.

If you go the roll your own route or get the cyclone only you could just get the motor/impeller from a central vac and skip the filters and just vent straight outside. https://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... r&_sacat=0

I have one of those cheap cyclones as well and it's doing its job really well. I must have emptied the barrel (60L) 6 or 7 times and there's only a tiny bit of dust in the dust extraction bag on the extractor.

I had to modify the in and outlets to take a 50mm hose but it's working great.

I would setup the cheap one first and see how you get along with it rather than spending 150 quid on something you might not need.

I was quoted $55 with a clear View cyclone on its own but $80 postage to the UK plus import duty plus VAT etc!

Will stick with giving a cheap eBay cyclone a try.

Thanks

over a dozen years ago I used to import a lot from the states to England. A rough guide was to double the dollar number and put a £ sign in front by the time it was in your hands.
And the exchange rate was better then
