SWMBO got fed up with tripping over everyone's shoes, nowhere to put the telly at breakfast "Here's your next project" she said.
Made from 6" sawn pine, thicknessed and biscuit joined. The pattern routed with a template, door edges ogee'd on the router table.

wow John I really like that. Can you go into a bit more detail on the router carving. How did you go about it?

How did the dreaded format go?

Hello Tom,
Trend has been marketing a system called Router Carver for quite a few years and I assume it didn't sell well, so they've been downsizing it bit by bit and now
have very few templates left, (and expensive!)
so whenever I go to the USA on holiday I bring back a couple of templates from a company that sell (under a different name) the exactly the same templates that Trend used to sell, but for considerably less.

The formatting didn't go at all well.
Whatever I do, it just refuses to format itself. So at the moment, I'm at a loss what to do next.

Do you know the brand name of the USA ones John?

Very nice indeed , i wish we saw more pine work on here i personally love the stuff , great idea to kill 2 birds with one stone as they say with the shoes and the tv . I too like the routing ..

The only thing is the finish , im sorry but its just not to my taste i prefer pine with a waxed finish

Well you kept that project quiet ?

How did you get it on your lathe

Looks good to me , but what do I know about this flat wood side of our hobby

 8)

Hi John,
a very nice piece - well done.
Haven't seen much of that style of routering before - obviously looking in the wrong places!! It works really well.

Malc :D

Thank you guys,
Allen,
I don't know much about it either, I've only made two or three cupboards/cabinets/worktables myself. (As for getting on the lathe, it wasn't easy, I can tell you)
Malc,
You don't seem to find pattern routing nowadays, as I mentioned on an earlier thread, Trend used to market these templates but I think they were priced too high.
The patterns look good on cupboard doors, benches, garden furniture.
They look almost hand carved.

John
