Sorry if this is a really basic beginners question. but does anyone have a list of angles that they would recommend to sharpen chisels, planes etc.

And when should a back bevel and micro be used?

Oh dear...minefield ahead. Lots of varying opinion on this one :) I use A2 steel most of the time and grind on the Tormek at 23deg, hone the secondary bevel at 30deg and generally use a micro-bevel honed at 32deg but others have differing ideas on what constitutes the ideal system for bevel edges - Rob
 
Secondary bevel at 30 degees and a 2 degree micro-bevel. Back bevels are really for difficult grain - I use a scraper plane instead.
