Hello :
Problem : new machine, no experience of surface planing mode, no problem with thicknessing mode.
The tables are set up. And the infeed table is set to the first depth mark. This appears to mean a 1 mm cut.
i.e. the infeed table is 1 mm below the level of the outfeed table.
(Feed direction is opposite to thicknessing direction).
When I attempt to plane, the wood begins to cut then stops when the leading end comes up against the edge of the outfeed table. This appears to imply the infeed table ought to be higher than the outfeed table. But of course that would mean no cut at all.
This situation strikes me as bizarre to say the least.
I expect the problem is self-inflicted by how?
