selling my Kity 627 spindle with sliding carraige

Hi all

i am getting rid of my kity 627 spindle moulder with sliding carraige.

I have never used it since i bught it from a fella 2 years ago. Its still in good nick but please see the following points....

1. the fella i got it from said the motor was 3-phase but it doesn't have any badges on to say if this is correct or not

2. the handle/nut that tightens to lock the rise/fall was rounded off but i've managed to get it off. I've kept it but i guess a new one will have to be found or made

3. there is a little bit of rust on the sliding carraige, not deep by any means but it would need tidying up. this is not affecting the 'slide' of the carraige

I have had a look around a few websites and have not come across the sliding carraige on any other examples so could be well sort after i guess.

I'll leave it open to offers for about a week but i only want to get back what i bought for it which was very little in my opinion.

oh, forgot to mention that is has a set of cutters. Or should that be a small block with lots of cutters.....made by elektra beckum

i was obviously tired lastnight when i posted this.

It also comes with LOADS of attachments for making curves etc and a 'drum' roller sanding attachment......and some original Kity machine grease/oil

Hi Yorkie,

The motor rating plate should say if it is 1 or 3 phase.

Does the cable have a plug on it? If so and its a standard domestic 3 pin type it is likely to be single phase 240v although you can never predict 100% what people might try

If no plug and no plate then these are the wiring colours old and new. New shown at top right as harmonised, brown, black and grey being current colours of the 3 live cables.

3 phase should have 3 live conductors plus neutral and a protective earth. The last could be the sheath armour on SWA cables.

The sliding carriage is useful but not rare.

thanks for that info, i'll have to check it out next time i'm in the workshop.

The motor doesn't have a cable coming out or a motor plate hence why i'm not sure if its single or 3-phase. i'll have a peek inside the 'switch' box housing to see if i can tell from there
