Started work at a college that has this Sedgwick planer, that has really bad snipe, it has a Teresa block fitted so any adjustments are to made on outfeed table. Looking at the bolts underneath the table will they allow me the adjustment needed, there are two bolts on top either side of outfeed table to loosen first.
would I need to shim as well ?
any help greatly appreciated

Hi Steve, I’m assuming you have access to a clock, so, the bolts on top just hold the table down, the 4 bolts underneat are jacking screws and set the table height. We adjust the two jacks closest to the blade initially, tighten up the hold down bolts on top, check it’s still parallel with the blade when rotated to top dead centre (need new blades fully spun up / taken a wide cut of something to bed them) then with a straight edge, align the back of the table. It’s a bit fiddly, and can be frustrating.
Check the infeed table is parallel with the cutter blade too.

Cheers for the advice, students not in tomorrow so will probably attack it then if it takes some time

First off, I’d check the beds are actually coplaner. Wind up the infeed so that with a clock or straight edge it’s absolutely at the same height as the outfeed. Use a long straught edge to check front and back as well as diagonal. These machines when setup unless moved, tendcto stay setup. However as your at a school, anything can have happened😂 Do you have the manual?

No manual, this planer has been with the college for possibly a decade, don’t know if the Tersa block was retrofitted or came with it.
