Hi everyone. I've got one of the above planer thicknessers and am looking for a manual for it. It is the later version with the longer beds but must be a relatively early one as it is two tone green. Does anyone have the manual in PDF they could share with me?

The Sedgwick manual is pretty generic, my PT was dated for me by Sedgwick as being made in the early 1980's. The manual they sent me was new and everything in it apertained to my machine. The have changed very little over the years. HTH

Yes, simplicity of design and quality of engineering are two of the things that I like most about Sedgwick machines. Stands to reason that a good design won't need to change much. The Wadkn BOAS was made from the 50's up to the 80's. I think Sedgwick are the only ones that still make these machines in the same heavy, cast iron way and long may it continue! I still need a manual for it though!!

Yep, if it ain't broke don't try and fix it! Just did a Google search for Sedgwick MB planer Thicknesser manual, and the second site was fileserve.newporthigh.co.uk manuals the PDF is the same manual I have.

I still have the manual sent with my brand new MB in 1988. It only has a cover and two internal pages and tells you very little other than the blade and drive belt sizes. The machine has served me very well and only needed one drive belt in 28 years. I did consider upgrading to a wider machine but found that they had altered the design and fixed the height of the out feed table and rendered the machine much less desirable. If you care to PM me with an email address I will send you a copy with pleasure.
Mike.

Thanks Mike much appreciated and will pm you my email now. Quick question; does your '88 model have the longer surfacing beds? I'm trying to figure out when they made the change with the MB. I think it's pretty much the only thing that they changed.

The PDF on the site I mentioned has the full 31 pages which includes set up and blade change/set up.

The total length of the in and out feed tables on my machine is 1220mm

Hi Dex and thanks for that. Yes I've seen that but it's for the PT. I'm after the manual for the MB. I suspect there will be differences but am having a problem finding the right manual.
