Hello forum,

I'm looking for a quick and efficient way of securing the mirror glass & backing on large oak mirror frames , I see that Lee Valley have a Picture Framer's Point Gun at a reasonable price , but would this work for a large piece of mirror glass and ensure that there would be no movement in the glass. Are flexpoint guns adequate for securing mirrors? or just for picture frames. All suggetions welcome , cheers , paulc

Small quadrant bead - pinned, or just pinned if shallow rebate? One method I've noticed is the backing board is rebated, overlaps the frame and screwed on . Edges rounded over for neatness.

Paul - I've tried panel pins and they don't really have enough 'bite'. Much better to try small 'cut brads', triangular in shape, but beware.....points are very sharp - Rob

I used small brass "fingers" and brass screws for a similar type of thing.
Works very well.
:D
