Merry Christmas forum friends and a very big thank you to my Secret Santa for a superb "Paul Sellers" inspired Router Plane.
Here is a link to the youtube clip by Paul Sellers which shows how to make this plane. Excellent video, very formative, with some hand tips in the process.
The plane measures 240mm long, approx 95mm wide, slightly curved at the front with a solid 28mm base. The handles nicely turned in Beech, with handmade fittings knurled knobs and an adjustment knob. The blade cut from O1 steel, hardened and sharpened.
Well done Santa, multiple skills on show to create a well made and functional tool. I look forward to using this plane in the workshop.
I really appreciate the effort my Santa has made to make such an excellent and useable tool.
It feels good that we can share and showcase our skills through this very exciting and worthwhile annual event. Thanks also to Phil for organising again this year, much appreciated.
Happy New year and all the best,
Tony (Escudo).
I also noticed your reaction score is a perfect 1000. As I said was 1000. I'm going to-push like, just to roll it over. And I for one hope you remain a lurker, I got stuff to make pens this Christmas. So I'm going to need some criticism. , opps I posted in the picture forum. Sorry, Phil.I will be posting photo's of my wonderful secret santa gifts tomorrow, things have been hectic at this end for just over a week now, we had a bereavement followed, within hours, by my sister-in-law being rushed to hospital after contracting sepsis in her foot. It has literally been touch and go to if she would make it through. Whilst she is still very ill we have been told she is out of immediate danger.
I have spoken with @Phil Pascoe about this next thing a couple of times last year and will now let you all know that this was my last Secret Santa, my hobbies now are 3d printing and as such I would have very little to bring to the table. I have had 6 wonderful years participating and have received some wonderful gifts, I have fully enjoyed those years but I have nothing to offer. Over the next few weeks I shall be ending my time in these forums and will take away some great memories of my 1650+ posts. In spite the arguments I often found myself embroiled in I don't actually dislike any of my adversaries.
I wish you all good health and a long life and as said by the dolphins in Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
