Secret compartments in boxes

I am new to this forum and wonder if anyone has any advice where to find how to construct secret compartments in boxes? I plan to make a rather complex jewellery box and would love to hide a compartent in it

I remember Norm making a jewellery box with a secret compartment, the base slid forward allowing access. Have a look at http://www.newyankee.com/getproduct3.cgi?1212. The plans for it are available from brimarc.

It has been a long time since I have seen this particular episode, but as I recall it was a very nice piece.

Works OK, (the size stops the wife buying anything large and expensive to put away)
