Well, sort of; in a post a few days ago, I mistakenly described our new 2500. Well, it turns out the manual is common to both varieties, and there is an exploded diagram of both in the back. From this you can see both models share some parts, incuding the main shaft, bearings and leather honing wheel. The grinding wheel is smaller and narrower (200x40mm) and has a somewhat smaller motor to drive it. This appears to be a similar ali bodied TEFC (enclosed fan cooled) induction motor (reduced 120W from 200W) and a similar drive mechanism. I would imagine previous 'messy' comments would apply, especially as the wheel is narrower, and the mechanicals might last longer as the wheel will be considerably lighter. Hope this and earlier post on the 2000 is of use if you're considering one of these from Screwfix.
