Hi All,

About a year ago I bought 2 old but nice looking saws (1 tenon, 1 dovetail). Unfortunately I've hardly used them because they need sharpening. I've seen this done and bought myself a saw set but when I tried to file the saw teeth with my dull, cheap file very little happened #-o
So my question is, before I waste more money on the wrong tool, can any one point me in the direction of a good quality file that would be ideal for sharpening saws?

Thanks in advance Froggy.

Froggy , suggest you ask on the Hand Tools area. Many will see your posting here , yet a faster reply is likely there. Many of the hand tool folk can point you to just the answer you are looking for.

Talk to Matthew at Workshop Heaven ... "matthewwh" here on the forums ... supplied me with the right tool and some very helpful instructions ...

Hi everyone, Thanks for your replies. I feel a bit stupid now...should've been the first place I looked as I've seen Matthew's utube offerings!! You're right Alf (as usual) couldn't be much easier to choose. And you're right Lanemaux, I should've gone to the handtools section. I'll the hang of it one day....I hope
