Hi all

here are my efforts from yesterday - including my own cast resin. Woods are yew, yew and purple heart x 2, mahogany then resin:

Learnt a lot doing the resin one - don't sand until any small holes have been filled or else they get full of sanding dust which I couldn't get rid of - hence several small light coloured spots

Glue line on centre band of middle pen a but yucky too...

The yew is my favourite but it was actually quite fun doing a 'proper' slimline as well.

This is a contagious obession...mm..hobby :D :D

sigh...

nice attempts stewart, but i must admit the yew does it for me.
i also see you are getting plenty tips about your casting on iap too. well done. keep it up.

Very tidy Stewart, some unusual colour combinations there. I quite like the contrast. I agree also if given a choice I would go for the Yew. Nice figure and colour.

You are getting very good at pen turning, all very good but the Yew looks great. How did it turn? I have just got some Yew pen blanks from Stiles & Bates along with some Zebrano which I have made a small box, need to send away for more pen kits sometime, has you say this hobby is a bit endless never get bored 8) :D

Thanks all

The yew is definitely my favourite too - it turned very nicely as all the yew i've turned so far has. I've still got 5 logs of it left, each about 3 feet long so expect to be seeing it rather often!
