Salix (willow)

I ask this every now and then just in case, so if you think I've posted this before, I have.

Willow is classed as non-commercial and not stocked anywhere that I have found. I need a slab 3 or 4 inches thick, 12 inches wide and over 3ft long, preferably green, straight grain and clear. Anyone within an hour or so of Cardiff know of any for sale?

it certainly is much sought after for cricket bats. I believe bat makers prepay to plant trees in the correct conditions.

I would contact your local tree surgeons. They can't give it away. I got some a couple of years ago passing by as they were cutting a big one down and thay said help yourself, it's no use to us.

I'm hopeful Cardiff Council might be able to help, anyone know how to contact their arboricultural officer?
