It's just that we've got one locally and it appears to cause difficulties on occasion with landings. The runway was recently extended down hill, whereas had the opposite end been extended it would have remained flat. Seems odd to me.

Aberporth Rog, light airsraft and more to the point, UAVs.

That road might have had something to do with it, Roy!

Never mind...those big Airbuses and Dreamliners won't worry about a little slope.

It's a bit steeper than it looks on there Rog, but the daft part is that only part of it slopes, the northern end is flat....

“ All the reviews are quite true, what a easy, welcoming, hassle free airfield to visit.

Make sure you phone them and take note of all the info you can get. I found it but only just and that was with a new 495 gps!

Following the coast is nice, preferable if the danger zone is cold or inactive, if your coming from the north get in touch with them sooner, way before the DA and you may get cleared direct.

On the way there the DA hot and had to hug the coast, the coast can be quite high in places and I had some low cloud so was a bit of a balancing act in places.

Airport people, buildings etc all top notch. Do take your own food with you though.

Little warning, before the runway threshold there is a rather large steep down slope. On approach it can feel a bit off putting and can also affect the airflow. Be ok once your used to it or expecting it.

Will be back again Ian

...approaching from the south you drop into a valley, where I live, then find yourself facing an upward slope. The best approach is from the sea if coming from the south then bank left onto finals.
Always assuming there's no gale blowing, and if there is then you probably won't see anything for the sea mist!
