These are proving to be very popular for this christmas , cut from 12mm mdf i love the way mdf cuts on the scroll saw its properties lend itself well to scrolling , pity its hazadous stuff , i will be making some of these out of 12mm birch ply

that looks lovely Mark, i agree about the MDF too, after cutting thick hardwoods it makes a nice change..

Mark ,brillent idea ,looks doable to me but I have a suspicion that it will not be the case for me ..As you say MDF is a worry regarding dust ,I watched Steve Good demo. a product on his program a few weeks ago which he recommends It looks very like the Dust Begone mask but is made from a different material .I may email him and find out where it is sold .
Good to see you are making time for the Xmas gear .

eugene its the plan i sent you a link too , i think it would be very do able for you , have a go in mdf and see what you think , i have dust masks by tool zone with valve on end which is best i have tried and i have tried many !! 2 pound for three

i urge you to have a go the hardest part is the corner cuts on legs and anklers but take your time and the beauty of it is they are pretty much hidden so if you slightly of it wont make to much difference or a quick blast with a needle file will sort it out , the flowing curves of body and it not being symetrical will allow for a margin of error and you can sand them quite easily , dont think that evertything has to be perfect or come of the hegner perfect . i fettle my stuff all the time and i bet their other scrollers that do on here unless they are master craftsmen !!

Indeed I have Mark .And I must say that thanks to your encouragement I am now enjoying what I'm doing . I have said on another post that the fear of doing wrong is beginning to give way to a more assured way of scrolling. I am not as worried not cutting on the line as I was knowing that a bit of sanding can soon tidy things up .

Hope you are well on the way to having your Xmas sales stuff ready .I am still tidying up me new work place . went to a secondhand office sale yesterday and bought two office chairs almost new for 5 euro each which works out at about £7.50 for the two. Not bad eh !!
Talk soon
