I'm about to embark on the making of some shaker doors for a bunch of kitchen cabinets and having bought a cutter set from Wealden I'm all set to go except....

When I've done this in the past I've just used the mitre fence in the slot and held on tight to the rail whilst routing a tongue on the end grain. Now that I've got a few to do I thought it would be appropriate to build a proper work holder/jig/sled thingy. I've seen them in use on various videos but have never seen plans to make one.

Does anyone know where I could find such info? I could probably figure out a design but would rather see what others have done and benefit from practised users wisdom.

Google keeps turning up table saw sleds and such like.

Any help appreciated.

That's the kind of thing I've made and used before too, sliding against the fence, no need for a mitre track.

Cheers, Paul

On the Wealden Cutters website, under Ron Fox's quick tips, he shows how to make a right angled push block which is what I use when using these cutter sets. Some year's ago, I bought a Trend jig that did the same job but was a bit of a faff to set up and I rarely use it these days. Admittedly, the Trend jig does include a clamp which the Ron Fox version doesn't.
