Hello, just threw out a 'jcb' cheap router which was a piece of junk and a waste of £50, I'm going to by a new one, and had intended spending alot more but the guy in the local tool shop, who is usually on the ball, says he has a Ryobi 1150watt router which will do fine for most jobs at a price of £65, will it be another waste of money? I want accurate clean cuts in most wood types, can the Ryobi do this? Any feedback much appreciated , cheers

not used a Ryobi router but have some other kit they make and am pleased with it

i bought one of the ryobi router and table kits from &q, cause i
figured even if the router was cr*p i got the table.
but having tried it, the router was pretty good,
it is quite quiet, and seems pretty powerful, and i think
that they have a decent warranty too.
go for it.

Hi, I have one in my collection of routers. Mine was a Costco sell off for, I think £22, so I couldn't resist buying a couple for myself and a friend. I haven't given mine any really heavy use as I bought a DW625 soon after to go in my table. My friend has used his and seems happy with it though and I have have no complaints. It runs smoothly and gives a good cut.

I think they are labelled as 1/4" but are in fact 1/2" and supplied with a reducer so whilst not the most powerful they are versatile.

I'd say go for it too. They are available from all sorts of places for all sorts of prices. I see on ebay they are up for £45-£100. This looks good value at £45 + £8 postage as a buy-it-now with some cutters thrown in.
