Hello thanks for letting me join . Any advice on router bits 1/4 inch Draper or Trend bits thanks

What advice do you need? AFAIK Draper is a generic brand for Chinese tools, variable quality. I've found Trend customer service good. I bought a large dovetail bit from them last year for quite a large job with sliding dovetails. The millisecond the bit hit the softwood (with the bulk previously hogged out) a large piece of TC broke off. They replaced it very quickly and apologised. The replacement bit was fine and chomped through many meters of wood.

If you're new to routing, people often advise buying one of the Trend larger sets to get a feel for what you will need long term. They are then cheap per bit and as they wear out you can buy better quality replacements.

Good shout IMO on Wealden, always good service. Also look at Whiteside Machine Company bits from Router Bits UK | router bits, solid carbide spiral bits, boring bits, brazed tungsten carbide router bits. I use them for bits I can't find at Wealden and they are good quality IMO.

Thank you for your quick response , I’ll leave Draper alone and go along the Trend route . I bought a cheap set off eBay to see what bits I liked and you have been very helpful thank you

You will be advised not to buy sets as you won't use all of them, but when you work out the cost per cutter it really doesn't matter that you won't use all of them. It would be great if we had 20/20 foresight, but we haven't and it's useful to have a range even if they're rarely used. I have the Trend 1/4" and 1/2" 12 and 15 part sets and they are fine - everything else with an odd exception is Wealden.

The Trend sets are very much aimed at the DIY user. Quality is not up to much, however their pro bits (green) are OK and the industrial ones (grey) are still good. However, I buy Wealden because they are invariably good quality.
