I had bought a 2100 watt ryobi unit but this had a fault so I sent it back.
They couldnt get another one for a long time so thay sent me 2050 watt AEG which seems to be a much better router.
My question is do I need another router as I want to by a dovetail jig, but I think this router is to big for this kind of work.
I bought this to do kitchen worktops and have a router table to mount it in.
What router would you recommend for dovetail jigs and lighter work.

Regards
David

Yes its probably a big big for dovetail, although a bigger base can make all the diffrence with dovetail jigs, stops wobble but you can attach your own sub base. For a dovetail jig you really want a light one with a fine height adjust. Something from the Trend range maybe?

De Walt 615 would be my choice or an Elu 96e but it would have to be second hand as they are not made anymore. I am not a fan of the Trend T5 but there are a few on here who do rate them. There is also another De Walt 1/4" model that seems a good buy but I can't think of the model. Do not go for one of the ones with the '***** switch' where you have to hold it on all the time as this would be a right pain for dovetailing. HTH.
