Another burry experiment - This came from a slab of burr with just one wavy natural edge, not sure about the shape, but it does fit into corners well. It's ended up quite flat in the centre, but the wood itself is amazing.

The wood is gorgeous, not sure about the shape but i1st thoughts were to make a small shelf from it for a corner with three turned legs of some type.
Just an idea

Good idea Pete, would be a shame to lose any of that beautiful figuring.

Another way I use that type of burr is to use it as a insert into the top of box lids, pens and so on, you only need a piece 5mm thick for lids. That way it can go a very long way and as many different items.

I bought it off ebay, but as part of a boot full of stuff, including sassafras and muhuhu bowl blanks, some very large whole burrs and a few slabs. I will probably make some pen blanks out of what's left. Must say I don't really enjoy turning burrs that much - too gritty and dusty, I always end up doing more scraping than cutting.

that would make some cracking pen blanks, did you just buy this off ebay?

hi pete
i must admit, i do have a one track mind where pens are concerned, thats because i cant turn anything else so i dont think of it- YET

Hi Pete ....

Just a thought, may meet with derison, maybe not ....
and its along the lines of the 'corner shelf' That Bodrighy Pete already mentioned ....

One 'central' leg and three of the small 'corballed' ( is that the right term ?) at the bottom of the leg , for it to stand on.
And you could place it in a corner still ...

Just a thought !
( and saves having to 'copy' turn 3 legs ! )

Even better if, when finished, its got a tall glass of Jacky Daniels and redbull sitting on a turned coaster, placed on the top, with a few 'cubes' in, just to give a chill to the mix.

Nice piece of wood though eh ?

You coud always make it into a clock
Or Barometer ...

or both
