recycing a garden chair into a wheel barrow (Planter)

I've got six of these chairs,

so when swmbo decided we needed to replace them I had other ideas...
so I decided to dismember two of them... :)

Two of the back main frames = Two Handles and props plus an angled fillet where the axle will be.

With the aid of some dowel and four bits screwed together you get a square wheel.

A bit of scrap ply with a dowel pin hammered in equals a jig and a round wheel.

No plans for the wheel barrow it's straight out of my head so what it will end up looking like I dunno :D

Looking good, Lord Nibbo. And just think, a non-woodworker would have probably just taken those chairs down the dump

Look forward to seeing the pics when you've finished.

Clamped for a dry run to measure for the bottom of the hopper.

Bottom being cut for the hopper, note the 10deg angle of the saw blade.

Bottom of the hopper glued and screwed in position, both sides and front of hopper are cut to a 10 deg angle , and wheel fitted using 1/2" dowel.

Sides and back just screwed together for a dry fit test.

All the sides now glued and screwed together, and adding a trim around every edge.

Trim added to top edges, just the front edge left to figure out how to do it.

Dont forget to drill some holes through the base for drainage, lower end and it would help to have a drip projection to steer any excess fluid from hanging to planter.
