Record Gnomes - do they help in the workshop

I have just seen this Record gnome is up for auction at an estimated £30 - £40 and wondered if anybody has had experience of them, do they help or hinder in the workshop? or are alternative gnomes better value?

I have heard that the department for Elf and safety are fairy sure that these are to Orcward to use in the workshop.

decided against this as it's had a dodgy respray from the original blue but there are also a lot of planes for sale a lathe and other woodworking tools if anybody in Yorkshire is interested it's just started but most tools on sale Saturday. Ryedale Auctioneers
