O'k i'm looking for a record bs 400 band saw again after being left down by http://www.toolite.org.uk/record-bs400- ... 21759.html i payed for the saw last week and been waiting delivery only to be told today that they can no longer supply me with my saw until May SO can you recommend a good company selling the record bs 400 band saw at a good price ??
mock

That sounds rather like record are out of stock. So a good seller may be simply one that has stock.

The Record stock has run out before, but if you contact Record direct, they should be able to advise you of any available.

I had mine from here http://www.rspaskin.co.uk/ and they usually have one on display. You will get a good deal if they have a show on, but otherwise, the normal price. Give them a call and see.

No wheel's but ill give them a ring next week if i don't chance my mind and find a nice table saw 12 would be nice startrite wadkin or ?????? any recommendation mock single phase or a converter considered ??

Hey Mock, I've got a nice bandsaw - Startrite 351 (up and running now). Are you sorry you sold it to me yet?

Regarding a table saw, I have a second hand Scheppach Ts2500. I paid £630 ish for it complete with long sliding table and fold-down side table. I really like it. I was looking around for a not-too-expensive saw but I'm glad I paid the extra and bought the Scheppach.

Good luck with your search.

Hello - first post here

Ordered a BS400 late Monday from D & M , delivered yesterday ( 3 day turnaround ) very impressed.

Purchased the BS400 going off the great and detailed review on this site, looks like a solid machine indeed ( my first bandsaw ) .

Cheers
D

does the table tilt left and right as the table tilting knob is very tight when trying to turn her clock wise ??? plus the table did not come with a table top screw to level the table any idea what size it is and length i would need

I'm writing to RP to get on their commission payroll!!!!

"Hi, my name's Random Orbital Bob and I'm here today to talk to you about Record's BS400 band saw..."

Yup, think that could work

Terry.

You'd be surprised Terry....I was in John Davis Woodturning down in Stockbridge week before last and a punter came in. He was after a bandsaw and John was floundering about the capabilities of the 400 which he happened to have on display. I sold it in about 5 minutes flat! John gave me a fabulous discount off a couple of spindle gouges as a result!

I will confess one thing.....he didn't know I was Mr Orbital Bob :)

Anyway...you bought one didn't you :)
