Record 53 vice - rocker bar size?

Hi

This week's project is refurbishing my father-in-law's Record 53 vice.
The rocker bar is missing, although the lever, spring and everything else appears present and correct.

It looks like a straightforward bit of flat steel. Does anyone have this vice and could give me the dimensions? It looks c. 470mm long would do, 4.6mm thick... it's the width I'm most unclear on.

So sounds like 3/16" thick by 18" long by 91/64" wide. Hmm. I was hoping that 5mm x 25mm would do!

91/64" is very specific. More likely to be 3/2" I'd have thought.

It doesn't appear to be an exact imperial size, which I would have expected it to be. :?

I would think the width only to be important where the bar actually lifts the half nut, I can't see it mattering much anywhere else on its length.

Hmmm.
Well, the half nut runs up and down the length of the bar, so it needs to be correct the whole length.
Just reassembled enough to measure up... gap looks like 25mm, so 1".
Time to change my order!

My Record 52½ has a 1" by ⅛" rocker bar, so I think you're on the right track there.
