Evening all. I need a to buy a few hollow mortise chisels for a newly acquired Multico machine. As ever prices vary hugely and I'm sure the quality does. Can anyone recommend me a decent quality/value brand? ( I have searched but couldn't find any previous threads)
Many thanks
Nick

I suppose its going to depend really on whether they are going to be used in some sort of long production runs, or just occasionally in a home set up.

Sort of set up where its part of your income generation, more expensive is going to last best and have less down time

Home set up about the 50 quid mark per is fine. And those wil be very good quality.

Alternatively, take a look on ebay. You'll find good individual 2nd hand Japanese chisels there at very good prices

I got mine on eBay. Took a little work to get in condition but less than £10 each so saved some money. I looked for English pattern chisels which meant they were likely older made.
