Having repaired the frame of a lovely old victorian nursing chair, I'm now re-wickering the seat and back. One long and difficult job using the 7-step method, canes breaking and fraying if I do as advised on various YouTubes . Seems like soaking the canes for no more than 20min before using helps, but doesn't solve the problems. Any advice out there would be much appreciated.
