Radial Arm Saws

Hi, im totaly new to this site so please be gentle!!

I was wondering is there a website anywhere that lists the specifications of different radial arm saws? Im after one that will crosscut in excess of 640mm, Ive also been told that the dewalt D111 will do this, can anyone confirm this

Is that the right ref number, would expect it to start DW and they didn't make a 111 as far as I know.

The DW728/729 and DW 721 will crosscut 610mm x 25mm any thicker and the work catches teh blade.

Some of the Stromab saws will cut 600 and over

Oops sorry, yes it is DW111, Im looking at one thats for sale andI can see the manual, it says DW111, Ive emailed the guy but what he sent me back didnt make much sense, just thought someone may know on here. Thanks for your speedy answer

Its about an 800mm cut.

rather than a dewalt why not look at a refurbed wadkin bra i sold one a while back for £1650 a much stronger machine another advantage is that the slide bars can be rotated or replaced when worn unlike the dewalt that has its slides cut into the casting and are quite prone to wear also the table is more rigid meaning it will stay square for longer.

Hi madpierre, yep rings a bell - check out Elu - code - RAS1751

Elu is now dewalt.
Google the Elu code above and you should get info. Model discontinued circa 2001 - I think maybe like for like replacement offered under Dewalt brand?

Mine is the Elu 1751 and I am sure it wont cut that far. I am sure it is just a little over 600mm. HTH. :wink:

I know there is a specified cross cut dimension. However, this can be varied considerably, depending on where you set up the fence. If you are happy that all you will be cutting is quite thin, you can push the fence way back towards the post , thus considerably increasing the cutting width.
