I'm getting a little bit of motor stalling in the RAS - should i be cutting shallow depth and then moving down to full depth or does it mean the blade I'm using is not sharp enough?

Sometimes its biting and running on a bit and sometimes its a bit slow to go through.

Have got the correct blade ie negative rake designed for a RAS?
If it is single phase, the run capacitor could be starting to fail but start off with a known good blade. Tell the saw doctor what you are using it for and he can grind it accordingly.
