Racal Airlite helmet suplies

I have the Racal Airlite helmet and need spare parts but Racal is no more in this sort of equipment. They have told me that 3M bought them out but 3m ignore emails and it is like talking to a 'rubber plant' on phone; nobody knows anything. Does any member have any idea where i might get supplies? They were a very popular item among Woodturners in 2000 when I bought mine. Any help would be SO much appreciated.

3m bought the Racal Airlite out around 10 or 15 years ago and I believe that Axminster bought the spares.
I have a number of spare filters, screen protectors, a Racal Airlite itself, and a few other bit's and pieces. PM me if you are intrested.

Interesting - when I contacted Racal (apart from their admitting that the Airlite was not their best product!) they said that no spares existed.
Mike - don't suppose you have any spare head bands??? The ones on my airlite are more duct tape than original plastic

No Dick I would be very suprised if 3M or even Axminster had any spares now, as I said I am going back at least 10 years, and the only reason that I have a few is because I bought the Trend Airshield and so the Racal got pushed to the back of the curboard.
I may very well have one headband but I will not know until tomorrow so don't build your hopes up.

Thanks, Mike - no hurry, I've been wearing it with duct tape for several years now! It's definitely the worse for wear, but still does the job.

Hi Dick, while looking for the thing that you need I noticed what might be a mistake. You said that you wanted a headband, but according to the Trend manual this is a headband

I have this I can sell if you need spare and if its the same model

It does run but the batteries are cream crackered

has a split in the top front filter cover , could be glued but it functional as it is

Would be good for spares or repair

£30 plus postage

But probably not a good time to buy, as we are about to spend a lot on the house..........

Maybe other Airliters will be interested.
